Manitou completed its study of consolidation options for the Townships of South Orange and Maplewood in Essex County, NJ. The study found that consolidation was feasible, and both communities accepted the report and formed a Task force to begin discussions on implementation of the study’s findings, which included numerous recommendations to increase coordination between the two fire departments.  The study was presented to joint meeting in October 2017.
